Skiathos is an island of 48 km2, with 44 km2 coastline and more than 60 beaches. It is one of the Sporades group located north of the island of Evia, in the northern Aegean Sea. Other Sporades islands: Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros.
Skiathos island is very green and hilly, the plants is composed largely of pine, olive and plane trees. Gods have blessed Skiathos with a rare commodity in other island destinations, i.e. water, that was used by mother nature to a amazing attractiveness bequested. the actual woodland is stunning.
The only village, called by inhabitants, 'chora', is built on the surrounding hills as in an amphitheatre. Chora is not really built simply by Cycladic style white-colored houses with blue windows, which usually for many symbolise Greece. The houses are made by local stone or plaster white or dyed, and red-tiled rooftops, and have usually balconies or simply balconies together with chestnut pergola and ornate black wrought iron railings, exactly where pink, purple or fuchsia bougainvilleas bloom.

Very touristy and lively in the summer, however, Skiathos features numerous quiet beach locations, even yet in higher season. Of course, all these sites really worth to see although they are less accessible than the organized beaches. because of this , why we include a car hire for our visitors to whom we also give all the information for the rental of a boat.
those of you that like cultural, Skiathos obviously can not compete with e.g. the Crete or Santorini and it does not have archaeological points of mainland Greece. However, it has attractions, which played a role within later Greek history including that of the liberation from Ottoman rule
