I really like summertime—fun, beach, pool, heat, BBQs, and no college for the kids! But I like this on the ministry front as well! Why? Because we obtain to go fishing!
Summertime is an excellent time to help you give our weekly preparing people a break, inviting the church to help you step up and stay in the gap for them while they sleep and refresh for the summer with their households! And yes! That means that each and every May, we will strategically request a whole new group of “Summer Serve” people for you to jump on in!
Summer Serve has become a strategic part of our ministry rhythm! We've got learned all over the past seven summers that the idea not simply affords our leaders a break, but that gives us the opportunity to be able to meet a whole fresh “pond” of people to help fish from!
What does one mean by that? All year long, our people experience awesome training and worship in “big church.” God is actually working in them and growing them into the likeness of Jesus! By visiting some point, people will be ready in order to take a step of faith in order to a serving role, and then we have found that Summer Serve is a great time for them to make that first step out of their seating and into service!
What do we do? We put a laser focus on the portion experience in the summertime. We want new people to be able to realize that helping is actually a joy. They are available in willing so that you can assist! But if they experience Jesus working through them impacting kids, we hear them say: “I didn’t know this was like this!” “I loved this; when may I do it again?”
