I like summertime—fun, beach, pool, heat, BBQs, and absolutely no course for the kids! But I enjoy this on the ministry front as well! Why? Because we find to be able to check out fishing!
Summertime is a superb time in order to give our weekly preparing people a break, inviting the church to help step up and endure in the gap for them while they rest and refresh for the summer with their family members! And yes! That means that every May, we start strategically invite a whole new group of “Summer Serve” people to be able to jump on in!
Summer Serve has become a strategic part of our ministry rhythm! We now have learned in the past seven summers that that not just affords our leaders a break, but that gives us the opportunity in order to meet a whole brand new “pond” of people to help fish from!
What do I mean by that? All year long, our people experience incredible instructing and worship in “big church.” God is truly working in them and growing them into the likeness of Jesus! By visiting some point, people will be ready for you to take a step of faith to a preparing role, so we have found that Summer Serve is a good time for them for you to make that first step out of their car seats and into service!
What do we do? We put a laser focus on the serving experience in the summertime. We want brand new people to be able to realize that serving is truly a joy. These come in willing so that you can help! But after they experience Jesus working through them impacting kids, we hear them say: “I didn’t know this was like this!” “I cherished it; when can possibly I do the idea again?”
