Summertime is an excellent time in order to give our weekly providing people a break, inviting the church to help step up and stand in the gap for them while they relaxation and refresh for the summer with their people! And yes! That means that each May, we will strategically invite a whole new group of “Summer Serve” people to help jump on in!
Summer Serve has become a strategic part of our ministry rhythm! We've learned inside the past seven summers that it not only affords our leaders a break, but this gives us the opportunity so that you can meet a whole new “pond” of people in order to fish from!
What should i mean by that? All year long, our people experience incredible training and worship in “big church.” God is working in them and growing them into the likeness of Jesus! From some point, people will be ready for you to take a step of faith in order to a helping role, so we have found that Summer Serve is a good time for them for you to make that first step out of their saddles and into service!
What do we do? We put a laser focus on the helping experience in the summertime. We want new people to be able to realize that providing is a joy. These come in willing for you to help! But when they experience Jesus working through them impacting kids, we hear them say: “I didn’t know this was like this!” “I loved the idea; when can easily I do the idea again?”
Each and every Sunday, we pray “God, show me today who to be able to tap into on the neck and ask into service!” It never fails. He does. Each week, somebody shines! So we compel. So we wait to see what God does! People come back. We acquire uncover them and encourage them again. And by the end with the summer, we don’t even have to fish—they are jumping into the boat! And our rosters are full of brand new people so that you can love on for the new season! And the “old” people return too!
