Summertime is a great time to help you give our weekly offering people a break, inviting the church to step up and endure in the gap for them while they rest and refresh for the summer with their families! And yes! That means that each and every May, we commence to strategically invite a whole brand new group of “Summer Serve” people to help you jump on in!
Summer Serve has become a strategic part of our ministry rhythm! We've learned over the past seven summers that it not only affords our leaders a break, but the idea gives us the opportunity to help you meet a whole fresh “pond” of people for you to fish from!
What does one mean by that? All year long, our people experience amazing training and worship in “big church.” God is working in them and growing them into the likeness of Jesus! Over at some point, people will be ready to help you take a step of faith toward a serving role, and we have found that Summer Serve is a great time for them to make that first step out of their saddles and into service!
What do we do? We put a laser focus on the providing experience in the summertime. We want brand new people to be able to realize that portion is actually a joy. They are available in willing in order to assist! But if they experience Jesus working through them impacting kids, we hear them say: “I didn’t know the idea was like this!” “I adored this; when will most likely I do it again?”
Every single Sunday, we pray “God, television show me today who to tap on the shoulder and ask into service!” This never fails. He does. Weekly, somebody shines! And now we invite. So we wait to have what God does! People come rear. We find to see them and encourage them again. And by the bottom of this summer, we don’t even must fish—they are jumping into the boat! And our rosters are full of brand new people to love on for the brand new season! And the “old” people return too!
