• The festival is primarily a new Celtic fire festivity, midsummer representing the middle of summer, and also the shortening of the days on his or her gradual drive to winter months. Midsummer is typically celebrated upon either the 23rd or perhaps 24th of June, although the longest day time actually falls on the 21st of June. The importance of the day to our ancestors and forefathers can be monitored back thousands of a long time, and many stone circles along with other ancient monuments tend to be aligned on the sunrise on Midsummer's Day. Essentially the most famous position is that from Stonehenge, where the sunshine rises on the heel gemstone, framed with the giant trilithons upon Midsummer morning.
