%%Very good at nôm and Chinese languages, Đoàn Thị Điểm (1705-1746) or poetess Hồng Hà had Văn Giang (Hải Hưng) as native land. Legend has it that she could reply without hesitation and improvise the verses. At the age of 37, she married Doctor Nguyễn Kiểu. Her work Chinh Phụ Ngâm (translated from Đặng Trần Côn's Chinese original into nôm language) reflected the anxieties of a woman waiting for her husband's return from the battlefield. The prosaic work Truyền Kỳ Tân Phả consisted of 4 stories in Chinese propagated till our days.
