%%Huyền Trân Công Chúa (Princess Huyền Trân) : In the early 14th century, the Chăm-Vietnamese relations were very harmonious. In 1301, on his visit to Chăm Pa, King Trần Nhân Tôn promised to marry his daughter Trần Huyền Trân to King Chế Mân of Chăm Pa. In 1306, Chế Mân offered Châu Ô, Châu Lý as wedding presents and welcomed Princess Huyền Trân back to proclaim her queen. 11 months later, Huyền Trân gave birth to a son at Chế Mân's death. The Chăm practices required the queen to die together with the king in the fire scaffold. Our Việt King sent two messengers to Chăm Pa, and their mission was to ask the Chăm royal court to let Princess Huyền Trân to practice a requiem at the sea-shore. On this occasion, they freed and embarked her to go home.
