%%Kiên Giang is a province in the western region of South-Vietnam. Kiên Giang is 240 kilometres south of Thành Phố Hồ Chí Minh.It is home to several ethnic minority groups. They include the Kinh (or Việt), the Khmer (Khơ Me) and the Hoa. Kiên Giang is endowed with beautiful sites, cultural and historic relics that attract many visitors the year round. These include the vast submerged forests at U Minh, Phú Quốc island and Hà Tiên town. The several islands under the control of Kiên Giang serve not only tourist and economic purposes but are also of military interest. Kiên Giang has Rạch Giá as provincial capital.
