    %%Lê Thánh Tôn (1422-1497) - son of Lê Thái Tôn and Ngô Thị Ngọc Dao - was the fourth king of Nhà Hậu Lê (Post-Lê Dynasty). Because of competition for power, his mother had to flee from danger and gave birth to him at a pagoda. At the age of four, he was welcomed to the royal palace to study. Intelligent, studious and erudite, he ascended the throne in 1460 and reigned during 38 years. Under his reign, Vietnam was a powerful country with a developed culture. This king fond of culture founded Tao Đàn Association (1495) and became Tao Đàn Nguyên Soái (Leader of Tao Đàn). The most outstanding among his literary works were Hồng Đức Quốc Âm Thi Tập and Thánh Tôn Di Thảo. Beside the royal character, his works reflected the sense of responsibility towards the people and the country. It was under the reign of Lê Thánh Tôn that Hồng Đức Code was born.
