%%Ngô Sĩ Liên (15th century) - a historian under Nhà Hậu Lê - had Chương Mỹ (present-day Hà Tây) as native land. He took part in the Lam Sơn insurrection, and graduated as doctor under the reign of Lê Thái Tôn (1434-1442). Ngô Si Liên was the author of Đại Việt Sử Ký Toàn Thư (Entire History of Dai Viet). This work compiled by Ngô Sĩ Liên was mislaid, but later, it was edited again by Lê Hy. Ngô Sĩ Liên had written it on the basis of Đại Việt Sử Ký by Lê Văn Hưu and Đại Việt Sử Ký Tục Biên by Phan Phú Tiên (both mislaid). Đại Việt Sử Ký Toàn Thư edited by Lê Hy (first published in 1697) presented the history of Vietnam from its origine to 1675 with two separate parts : Ngoai Ky (5 volumes) and Ban Ky (10 volumes). This work was a quite great contribution to the national culture.
