%%Nhà Mạc (Mạc Dynasty) originated from the fact that Mạc Đăng Dung had overthrown Nhà Hậu Lê (Post-Lê Dynasty). More and more unpopular, Mạc Dynasty resigned itself to surrender to Ming Dynasty (China). After Thăng Long had fallen to the Trịnh clique in 1592, Nhà Mạc advanced to Cao Bằng to set up last-ditch defence till the 70s of the 17th century. Mạc Dynasty reigned between 1527 and 1592.
