%%As a leader of the Âu Việt people, Thục Phán occupied the Hùng Kings' territory in 258 B.C, founded the Âu Lạc Kingdom, proclaimed himself An Dương Vương and moved the royal capital from Lâm Thao (Vĩnh Phú) to Cổ Loa (present-day suburbs of Hà Nội). He led the heroic resistance war against the the Tần army and Triệu Đà's Nam Viet troops. Being deceived by Triệu Đà in 179 B.C, he lost his kingdom and committed suicide by throwing himself into the sea.
