    %%With Điện Bàn (Quảng Nam) as native land, Trần Cao Vân (1866-1916) was a patriotic intellectual. He learned the Chinese language in his childhood, and at the age of 20, entered religion, became a teacher, then opposed the French. He was imprisoned three times with 13 years in all. Trần Cao Vân took part in the foundation of Việt Nam Quang Phục Hội (Association for Restoration of Vietnam), together with Thái Phiên and King Duy Tân drew up the insurrection plan. The thing was out, so they were captured. Trần Cao Vân was excuted on May 17th 1916. Among his remaining literary works in Chinese and nôm languages, there was Trung Thiên Dịch on the Dịch Confucianist principles.
