%%Trần Nhân Tôn (1258-1308) - King Trần Thánh Tôn's eldest son - ascended the throne in 1278. He realized the solidarity between the royal court and the people to defeat two Mongol invasions (1285-1288), and hold firm the western and southern frontiers of his fatherland. During his 14 years in power, he always indulged in researches on Buddhism. After having left the throne to his son (future Trần Anh Tôn), he went preaching everywhere and decided to enter religion at the Yên Tử mountain. Being the first Supreme Venerable of the Thiền Trúc Lâm religious order, Trần Nhân Tôn composed many poems and Buddhist works. So far, there remain only the poem Cư Trần Lạc Đạo and 25 poems in Chinese characters in Việt Am Thi Tập.
