%%Trần Thái Tôn (Trần Cảnh, 1218-1277) was the son of Trần Thừa (a high-ranking mandarin of Lý Dynasty). Owing to his uncle Trần Thủ Độ's artful arrangements, Trần Cảnh married Lý Chiêu Hoàng and was left the throne by her in 1225. In 1258, Trần Thái Tôn achieved the resounding victory over the Mongol aggressors. Afterwards, he left the throne to his crown prince (future Trần Thánh Tôn) and entered religion.
