%%Trịnh Hoài Đức (1765-1825) - minister under the reign of Nguyễn ánh - was reputed for integrity and writing talent. Belonging to Minh Hương , his ancestors migrated to Vietnam, lived in Phú Xuân (Huế) then in Trấn Biên (present-day Đồng Nai). Due to his wide learning and talent in literature, he was lavishly entertained by King Minh Mạng.Trịnh Hoài Đức figured in Bình Dương Thi Xã (Binh Duong Poetry Club), and was the author of Gia Định Thành Thông Chí (six volumes on history and geography, translated into French from the late 19th century) and three anthologies.
