The festival is primarily the Celtic fire celebration, midsummer *middlesummer.co.uk* representing the middle of summer, and the shortening in the days on their gradual march to winter. Midsummer is typically celebrated on either the 23rd as well as 24th of June, even though longest morning actually comes on the Twenty first of July. The importance of the morning to our ancestors and forefathers can be tracked back many thousands of years, and many natural stone circles and other ancient monuments are usually aligned on the sunrise in Midsummer's Day. One of the most famous position is that from Stonehenge, where the sun's rays rises on the heel rock, framed through the giant trilithons in Midsummer morning.
