Each Ghe Ngo (Ngo junk) is made of an empty and big tree trunk in which the rowers take their seats. In some cases, such a junk can be 40 meters long and contain up to 50 rowers. Ngo junks are always decorated with multicoloured and impressive designs in front and on both sides. * Boat-race belongs to traditional activities dated from the Kings Hung's dynasty, of which the stamp is still retained on the surface of the bronze drums. Boat-races are seen in most of popular festivals throughout Vietnam.
